Ho Chong, a native of Guangdong, was known for his exquisite paintings. He came to reside in Taiwan and developed a close friendship with Lin Zhanmei, actively participating in the literary gatherings of Qian Garden. 

 

This painting was created in1871. In the inscription, the artist mentions that his ink technique was influenced by Yun Shouping, a painter from the early Qing dynasty.
