Li Yiqiao was a descendant of the Li Xijin family from the North Gate of Tek-chhàm and was renowned as a poet, calligrapher, and collector of calligraphy and painting. He co-initiated the establishment of the "Hsinchu Calligraphy and Painting Enhancement Society" and actively participated in Japanese calligraphy exhibitions.

This couplet is written in running script, intertwining eight characters of auspicious blessings, and was presented to Zeng Yulan.
