Thinking of today, reminiscing the past couplets ,1856
Zheng Yongxi 1788-1858
In January 2023, members of the Zheng family were busy cleaning the courtyard as the year drew to a close. By chance, in a corner of the warehouse, they discovered a pair of wooden engraved couplets written by their ancestor Zheng Yongxi (1788-1858), an accomplished scholar and the first Taiwanese Jinshi (進士), having passed the highest level of the imperial examination.
This couplet was composed by Zheng Yongxi in 1856, expressing his profound gratitude of the divine grace and the guidance of his teacher.
