This letter is written by Chen Yaochu (around 19th century), a teacher of the Ming-Chih College, to a new coming teacher of the College. It vividly depicts the interactive dynamics between teachers and students in the College. This letter is believed to have been written in 1843. It is a precious document that provides insight into the educational practices of Tek-chhàm in the mid-19th century. The College was destroyed in 1895 when Japan took over Taiwan.
