【說明】
本作是《歌集 深山木》手寫本的開篇之作。作品書寫筆畫富力度,字體間距疏朗,間以連筆帶出行氣的綿延。佈局採用散行由右向左遞落排列,呈現日本書道的垂落式構圖傳統,予以和歌視覺上的節奏感。
【Translation】
As the opening piece of the handwritten manuscript of Waka Collection: Miyamakigi, this work establishes the intellectual tone of the entire collection.
The calligraphy shows varied stroke weight and generous spacing between characters, with occasional connected brushwork. The lines descend in a cascading arrangement from right to left, reflecting a traditional vertical layout in Japanese calligraphy and lending the poem a distinct visual rhythm.
和歌是什麼?
和歌是一種日本傳統韻文,最早可追溯至《萬葉集》(約成書於奈良時代末期,8世紀),到了平安時代蔚為流行,西元905年開始編纂的《古今和歌集》則標誌和歌詩風的確立。和歌不追求押韻,強調節奏與語感,形式多為5、7、5、7、7,共31音(即所謂「短歌」)。短短數行之間,傳遞一瞬的感覺、一個季節、一段心思。

What is Waka?
Waka is a traditional form of Japanese verse whose origins can be traced back to the Man’yōshū, compiled around the late Nara period in the eighth century. It flourished during the Heian period, and the compilation of the Kokin Wakashū beginning in 905 marked the establishment of waka as a refined poetic tradition.
Rather than relying on rhyme, waka emphasizes rhythm, cadence, and the nuanced flow of language. The most common form, known as tanka, follows a fixed structure of 5–7–5–7–7, totaling 31 syllabic units. Within these few short lines, a waka often conveys a fleeting sensation, a seasonal moment, or a quiet turn of thought.
• Form: 5 / 7 / 5 / 7 / 7 (31 syllables)
• Prosody: Rhythm and sound take precedence over rhyme
• Writing Direction: Vertically arranged text flowing from right to left
