【說明】
嶽麓書院建於北宋開寶9年（976），位在今日湖南長沙嶽麓山下。歷代皆有名儒講學於此，例如朱熹與張栻、王陽明等，是科舉時代作育英才的重要場所。即使清末民初，科舉已然廢除，新式教育仍以嶽麓書院為基地，擴建湖南高等學堂以及後來的湖南大學。乾隆年間，山長王文清手訂嶽麓書院學規，其思想源頭傳承南宋張栻的嶽麓書院記以及朱熹的朱子書院教條，學規共18條，每條有6字，文字潛白易懂，具有經世致用的理想。原碑除了學規外，尚有當時門人曹盛朝等學生勒石的題名，本件拓片僅將18條學規製成條幅收藏。
【Description】
Yuelu Academy was established in 976, during the Northern Song Dynasty, at the foot of Yuelu Mountain in present-day Changsha, Hunan. It was an important institution for nurturing talent, during the imperial examination era. After the abolition of the imperial examination system in 1905, modern education continued to use Yuelu Academy as a base, expanding it into Hunan Higher School and later Hunan University.
During the Qianlong period, the headmaster Wang Wenqing(1692-1779) established the academy's regulations. The regulations consisted of 18 rules, each 6 characters long, written in simple and easy-to-understand language, embodying practical ideals. This stone rubbing contains the 18 rules of the academy, made into a scroll for collection.
