【說明】

清朝晚期新式學校的設立風起,有識之士力主先辦師範後辦學校,有優良的師資才有教學成效。1902年清廷公布章程,以初級師範學堂為小學師資之正式培育機構,每州縣必設一所;科舉廢除後,讀書人傳統出路緊縮,師範學堂遂成重要選擇。又附設師範傳習所,招收鄉鎮以教書謀生的門館先生們短期修業,加速師資培育。中華民國成立後,各地普設小學,朝義務教育方向邁進,師資需求急切,故在師範學校之外,設有教員養成所,具資格者重加培訓,以充任教員。

此件展品為李姓縣知事參加師資短期培訓機構,獲最優等畢業的榮銜。喜訊以紅紙印出,一如科舉考試上榜捷報的形式,顯然能擁有新時代教育資格是相當榮耀的事。捷報上端為民國元年(1912)所定的五色國旗與十八星旗。

【Description】

In the late Qing Dynasty, modern schools emerged, and people of insight emphasized teacher training to ensure educational quality. In 1902, regulations mandated that each county has an elementary normal school for primary teacher training. Short-term training institutes were also established for local tutors. Following the establishment of the Republic of China in 1912, the demand for teachers grew with the spread of elementary schools. Teacher training institutes provided further training for qualified individuals.

This exhibit is a certificate awarded to County Magistrate Li, who graduated with top honors from a short-term teacher training program. The announcement, printed on red paper, highlights the prestige of obtaining modern educational qualifications.
