鄭貽林，字登如，號紹堂，福建泉州人，光緒年間遷居鹿港。曾參加歲試，獲臺澎兵備道劉璈(1829-1887)取進彰化縣學，後又因捐輸賑恤，以增生援例獲授為貢生。

鄭貽林書法造詣頗高，各體兼長，特別以隸書聞名，風格受清代金石名家呂世宜(1784-1855)影響，為臺灣少數碑帖派書法家之一。此件對聯是為「吉席志喜」所寫，即祝賀他人新婚之作。對聯內容多見於《蘭亭集序》集字帖，原是流暢飄逸的行書體，鄭貽林改以剛健穩重的隸書體再創作，別有一番趣味。

​【Description】

​

Zheng Yilin, courtesy name Dengru and style name Shaotang, was from Quanzhou, Fujian, and moved to Lukang during the Guangxu era. He participated in the first Shengyuan assessment exams and was admitted to Changhua County School by Liu Ao. Later, granted the title of Gongsheng for his charitable contributions.

As an accomplished calligrapher, Zheng excelled in various scripts, particularly clerical script, influenced by Qing epigraphy master Lu Shiyi. This couplet, inscribed with "Jixizhixi(吉席志喜)," celebrates a wedding. The content, often seen in calligraphy compilations of "Lantingji Xu(蘭亭集序)," originally in flowing running script, Zheng's robust clerical script adds a unique charm.
