此件文物是清代官方給予科舉考試入闈者的答題格式規範，內容仔細且嚴格。例如策論答題需在兩千字內，一但超過字數考生就會被「貼出」，即喪失考試資格。另外，也有「御名應敬謹避」的規定，即答題時遇到特殊人物(例：皇帝、孔孟等)的名字，該字就需以其他文字或減少筆畫的方式取代。例如康熙帝名「玄燁」，其中就規定「燁」宜用「煜」字代用。足見當時考場規則之繁瑣，一不留心謹慎就會喪失資格，枉費數年寒窗苦讀了。

This demonstrates the meticulousness of the examination rules at the time. A lack of attention and caution could easily lead to disqualification, rendering years of diligent study in vain.
